The recently signed agreement provides five candidates of Free University/ESM access to a special scholarship program which will make it less costly to complete master-level studies at IE Business School. The partnership is an exclusive agreement between the two institutions.

“Free University students frequently continue their education through master degrees at leading institutions outside of Georgia, so this partnership is an ideal way to offer the country’s future leaders an opportunity to pursue a degree with a top tier academic institution such as IE,” said Marina Karchava, Vice Rector, Free University of Tbilisi.

“IE has already received impressive applications from Free University alumni and the candidates not only have exceptional academic records but portray an entrepreneurial thinking that will help them succeed in today’s multicultural business environment,” said Joël McConnell Director of IE Financial Aid. “I have no doubt that the Free University scholarship recipients will be a valuable addition to our international student body.

Awarded on a yearly basis, the five scholarships are intended to contribute to tuition fees only. They are as follows:

One scholarship of 50% for the following programs offered at IE Business School: International MBA, Global MBA (English or Spanish Track), Master in International Management, Master in Finance, Master in Advanced Finance, Master in Sports Management, Master in Digital Marketing, and the Master in Biotechnology Management program.

One scholarship of 40% of tuition fees for the following programs offered at IE: International MBA, Master in International Management, Master in Finance, Master in Advanced Finance, Global Master in Finance, Master in Corporate Communication, Master in Digital Journalism, Master in Architectural Management and Design, or the Master in Global and Environmental Change.

Three scholarships of 30% for the following programs offered at IE: Master in International Management, Master in Finance, Global Master in Finance, Master in Corporate Communication, Master in Digital Journalism, Master in Architectural Management and Design, Master in International Relations, or the Master in Global and Environmental Change.

“IE Business School offers rewarding experience in all aspects – academic, professional, social. When I decided to enroll in the MBA program, my objective was to choose a European school within the top 10 global ranking, with a one year MBA program, a diverse class, and an entrepreneurial focus. IE Business School was the only school that met all my criteria and I am very happy about my choice,” said Teona Mikadze International MBA 2009 and Head of Premium Banking (SOLO) at Bank of Georgia. “The International MBA program is definitely life-changing, it has opened my mind to many new ideas and possibilities and I am excited that this opportunity is now available to more of my Georgian peers.”

“Georgia is a very dynamic and fast developing country, so it’s no surprise that Georgian professionals desire the knowledge and skills that will enable them to build a successful career in Georgia and abroad,” said Liudmila Ishchenko, IE’s Associate Director of International Development Europe. “This new partnership with Free University will help Georgians finance their studies at IE and participate in our programs, which are based on our core values of global focus, entrepreneurial spirit and humanistic approach.”
