Written on October 19, 2011 by Joël McConnell in Scholarships | Becas

What does the opportunity consist of?

IEEE WIE and IE are working together to help top women engineers access master-lever training and build a professional network that will allow WIE members to advance their professional careers. As part of our collaboration, IE is offering up to 50.000€ in scholarships for WIE members who’ve obtained admissions to an IE master program. Please note that while preference will be given to R8 members, this offer is open to IEEE WIE members globally.

How can you access one of these scholarships?

1) Apply for admissions to an IE master program (including IE Business School’s MBA programs)
2) Apply for the scholarships
3) Admitted candidates who’ve shown real commitment in their academic and professional development to date will be awarded a scholarship towards their program of study

Can I supplement the scholarship with other funding?

Scholarship recipients can also access one of IE’s three in-house loan offers, which includes up to 30.000€ in student loans at interest rates of Euribor+1.5% to 5.5%, repayment periods of up to 10 years, and a no-penalty early repayment clause.

What other support for women candidates can IE offer?

In addition to having a center focused on diversity and inclusion, IE works with leading organizations such as 85 Broads, European Professional Women’s Network, Women in Business, and Queen Rania Foundation to help top women candidates launch successful careers. While at IE we offer several women-focused electives, especially with regards to leadership development and managing diversity in global organizations.

As part of the IE Foundation’s dedication to supporting professional women throughout their career development process, the Foundation has partnered with the IEEE’s Women in Engineering (WIE) initiative to bring top women engineers from Europe, Middle East and Africa to Madrid for advanced studies in management. The collaboration includes various joint initiatives, including a scholarship program which will see 2 or more IEEE Women in Engineering members receive scholarships worth a combined total of 50.000€.

To qualify you must be an active Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) member and also a member of the Women in Engineering (WIE) initiative, reside in the IEEE’s Region 8 (Europe, Middle East and Africa), and have definitive admissions to an IE master program. Many of the participants of our program every year come from Engineering backgrounds, especially with regards to our Executive MBA program. However we encourage all interested and qualifying candidates to apply, regardless of program. See the IE Financial Aid web page for detailed application guidelines.

For more information from the IEEE Women in Engineering initiative, please email Dr. Pilar Molina at the University of Zaragoza (pimolina @ unizar.es) or IE Financial Aid (financialaid@ie.edu).
